My orange buddy had a tooth out today and he’s a happy snuggle cat again after two days of howling and gallons of drool . The vet was kind (?) enough to text me a disgusting picture of it - he had groomed himself a dreadlock around the tooth that got infected.

I am sure the vet just found it interesting, and all the gross things are just normal to him. How does a cat groom a dreadlock around a tooth?

No idea, he had a massive glob of hair (and food and who knows what) wrapped around the tooth and it all apparently just came out when poked. It looked like those tumors made of hair and teeth.
